In person and online counselling in Southampton

In person or online?

My practice is in the Bitterne area of Southampton and I work in person with individuals and couples. This provides a personal and private space for us to journey together and where you can take those important steps towards healing, growth and good mental health.

I am a Christian and therefore have an understanding of the importance of faith. Whilst I work with people of all faiths and none, if you would appreciate a counsellor who understands these issues from a Christian perspective then I can help.

I also work online via zoom so if this is more convenient for you, then please ask about working with me this way. We may not be in the same physical space but the zoom room will be just as a safe and confidential environment.

About me

I am an experienced Registered and Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor (MBCAP) trained to work with individuals and couples, online and in person.

My qualifications include:

Certificate in Christian Counselling (Level 3) - Central counselling Training Service (CCTS) Southampton (2008)

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4 Central Counselling & Psychotherapy Award Body (CCPAB), Farnborough College of Technology (2009-2011)

BA (Hons) Counselling (top-up) 2:1 – Greenwich University @ Guildford College (2012)

Certificate in Couples Counselling – Basingstoke Counselling Service (2015)

Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision Level 7 – Dr Kathy Raffles Counselling Service. (2016)

Workshops and Day Training courses: Ongoing continued professional development courses and workshops including depression, anxiety, group supervision, CBT etc.

I provide counselling for depression, including post natal depression, bereavement, life changes, emotional issues, relationship difficulties, trauma, abuse, stress and anxiety.

I am an Integrative Therapist which means I tailor counselling for your individual needs, which may include Cognitive Behavioural Techniques (CBT), but will always be reflective and safe. Sometimes our life history and early relationships influence how we view ourselves as adults and whilst we are not defined by the past, counselling can help to disentangle the past from the present and future. Understanding can then lead to resolution and stepping forward in your life.
